Detailed description of Miyako and the area

Miyako City (pop 44 000), is a coastal city located in the northern part of Honshu. It's known for its beautiful natural scenery, including its rugged coastline, sandy beaches, and lush forests. The city is also home to a number of historical and cultural attractions, such as the Todagawa River, the Miyakojima Island, and the Jodogahama Coast.

Sanriku Coast

The Sanriku Coast is the main attraction. It is a 250-kilometer-long (155 mi) stretch of coastline in northeastern Japan, along the Pacific Ocean. It extends from southern Aomori Prefecture through Iwate Prefecture and northern Miyagi Prefecture. The coast is known for its rugged beauty, with its many bays, cliffs, and coves.
